Snare Spell...how does this work?

Did a search for Snare + FAQ and this site keeps sending me to the PRD.

So...

What is the Trapped condition?
What does it mean when limb or limbs? How does this work?
Given that the snare has an AC and hit points but explicitly states a trapped creature uses the Escape Artist or Strength check only, it is implied that another creature may help the trapped one via a direct attack on the snare with any weapon, including spells.

Thanks in advance.

First, link.

1. Trapped is not a standard condition in the Pathfinder RPG. It is used here to describe the specific effect of this spell. Judging from the text of the spell (specifically the last paragraph), it seems to indicate that a "trapped" creature cannot move until they break free of the spell using one of the listed methods.

2. I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here, but it seems that the spell catches hold of the ankle of anyone who steps on it, and that's how it prevents movement as discussed in question 1. As for the possibility of multiple limbs being caught, that seems to be primarily flavor text, I can't see any mechanical difference between one or multiple legs being caught.

3. The wording of the spell is a little weird here, when it says;

PRD wrote:
To escape, a trapped creature must make a DC 23 Escape Artist check or a DC 23 Strength check that is a full-round action.

That seems to indicate that those are the only two options available, but then it talks about the spell's AC and HP which suggests that there is a third method of escape by attacking the rope.

I would ignore the "must" in the quoted text and just treat all 3 methods as equally viable escape methods. Of course if a character is hanging upside down by their ankle they may have some difficulty attacking the rope.
