Familiar feats

Rules Questions

There are feats specifically for familiars to take so how do familiars get feats?

Check the top of the Familiar feat section in the book.

TL/DR: You can swap out any feats the familiar has on its base form for Familiar feats.

"Feats that are meant for familiars can be switched out for a familiar's default feats (as listed in the familiar's statistics) if the familiar meets the prerequisites. Such feat replacements must be made when the PC first acquires a new familiar, and-like all new feats from supplemental sources-the new feats should be approved by the GM before being integrated into play." From Animal Archive.

Right now there are only 5 such feats:

Critical Conduit
Extra Item Slot
Familiar Spell (Metamagic)
Familiar Focus
Spell Sponge

Sczarni

Since I see that the OP plays PFS, I'll add that if you swap out Weapon Finesse for a Familiar feat, your Familiar loses the ability to use Dexterity for its attack rolls.

That's an exception just for PFS.
