I've created a monster! Or a ghost. Well, just questions about ghosts..

Rules Questions

My character has a homebrew spell that basically allowed her to create a summoned creature of CR5 or less.

I chose a ghost drow noble cleric.

Questions.

1. Do her spells, SLA's and attacks only have a 50% chance of affecting the party, or is that an old Ethereal hold over? I read the rules for incorporeal and I don't see that anywhere, even under corrupting touch.

2. Since the rules clearly explains that I only have a 50% chance of affecting her, shouldn't spectral hand allow me to buff her with range touch spells without worry?

3. I assume that her spell component pouch wouldn't stay "topped off". Remember that she is summoned, not called. But she could cast spells that only have a divine focus, seeing as that doesn't get used up.

4. Are incorporeal creatures always invisible? Or can they be seen if they choose?

2 If Spectral Hand is 100% effective against corporeals, it probably doesn't have any special ability to affect incorporeals.
3 Spell component pouches are infinite unless the GM wants to make a fuss. GM controlled creatures with no spell component pouches always seem to get free Eschew Materials anyway...
4 I don't think incorporeals can turn invisible at all unless they have that as an ability.

1. That was part of the ethereal rules for 3.x, they no longer apply to ghosts.

2. Yes, the hand is incorporeal, so it interacts with incorporeal targets normally.

3. I don't see a rule that states SCP deplete their resources... everything in them is considered of inconsequential value anyway.
The issue I could anticipate is that spells use material components, which the ghost can't actually interact with.
However, I'd let the pouch and its contents fall under this.

Quote:
When a ghost is created, it retains incorporeal “copies” of any items that it particularly valued in life (provided the originals are not in another creature's possession). The equipment works normally for the ghost but passes harmlessly through material objects or creatures.

If you're still worried this isn't enough to argue against depletion, keep in mind this is a spectral duplicate of the original.

4. Incorporeal creatures are not invisible unless their entry says they are. It's Ethereal creatures that are invisible and ghosts are no longer ethereal.

Even though the hand itself is incorporeal?

I think that sort of lends to the statement that a ghost can affect others without the miss chance, now that I think about it.

The hand is not making attacks with spectral duplicates, or else it would incur a penalty vs corporeal targets.

What can you do with it besides deliver touch spells? Since these are armed magical attacks, they are not a good indication that they "affect corporeal targets normally", that is a function of the magic.

Thanks a bunch!
