Metamagic Stacking

Rules Questions

Suppose I have an Echoing Empowered Fireball. I cast the original. Does my echo leave me with an Empowered Fireball or a Fireball?

It would be an Echoing Empowered fireball as that is the spell you prepared.

It would be prepared in an 8th lvl slot baring some kind of metamagic cost reduction, and you would be able to cast it twice as an "echoing, empowered fireball", but it would still only count as a 3rd lvl spell for save dc's and other lvl dependant stuff.

All metamagic stacks with the exceptions of empowered and maximized.

You can still use both those metamagic feats on the same spell. The maximize part just doesn't maximize the empowered part of the spell.

+1

OP: So you wouldn't be casting the original spell.
