How does the Bomber rogue talent stack with alchemist?

Rules Questions

Suppose that I want to play a rogue with the bomber talent as well as Alchemist levels, how do the damage dice between the two stack?

Usually with that sort of thing they don't stack - each pool is treated separately. So a rogue 3/alchemist 5 with 16 Int would have two sets: the rogue set, 3/day at 2d6, and the alchemist set, 8/day at 3d6+3.

are you sure? I was really hoping they would stack somehow

They've specifically addressed the issue of getting the same class feature from multiple classes in terms of channel energy, and yes, that's how it works. Unless it specifically says they stack (something like "with this talent your rogue levels stack with any alchemist levels to determine the power of bombs") they're treated as separate class features, just like any other class features, unless you can get your GM to rule otherwise.

Rennaivix,

Sorry for the thread necro, but do you know where this reference comes from (the channel energy/same class feature from multiple classes)?

It's an FAQ, listed here.
