Hi, all! I'm building a character for an upcoming Iron Gods campaign, and the build that I'm considering is a Barbarian(Numerian Liberator) with either Eldritch Heritage(Stormborn) or the VCM(Sorcerer) for the same bloodline, if the DM allows. I probably won't actually have him be Ulfen, as I don't want an exact lookalike, but this was my question: how reliant do characters in Iron Gods get on technology? I kind of thought it would be cool if this character was a follower of Erastil or Gozreh and came to Numeria to try and convince people of the evils of technology. It would be nice if there were options aside from technology so I could keep that theme for a while. Am I going to be shafted trying to RP a tech-hater in Iron Gods?

Is thunder an option? I only see Air. I hadn't really really considered the bloodrager . . . I'll have to dig into that some more. And it seems like Spellstrike wouldn't be an option for a long, long time, I don't know if that's worth the VMC to me. I'll have to think about it.
Any advice on the tech-hater question though?

Air basically is the Thunder option, all of your bonuses give electricity stuff.
I think Bloodrager is a good option. Another would be a Nature Fang Druid with the Blessed Hammer feat, but I think you'd want to ask your GM if you can change the elements of some of your Druid spells to electricity for free (maybe burn a trait on it or something).
As for low-tech characters in Iron Gods, I haven't played the AP myself but I've heard that not using the tech you find will be really crippling.

I read your guide on the Bloodrager, I think I'll go ahead and run with that :) I found the adventure and skimmed through the treasure sections, and it seems like the vast majority of the named treasure at least is ranged weaponry and armor, so I'm not sure what kind of tech-gear there will be for my character anyway, but I think the way I want to play it is that he starts out hating technology, then after being put in a situation where he needs to use it starts to grudgingly acknowledge its usefulness, and he starts using more and more with the justification of using it to destroy unnatural enemies. Sort of "Too Human".
