Hello people.
For the group's next potential destination, i'm making a setting where a grove is polluted and its guardian Nixie has been corrupted.
Naturally, she'd have either aquatic domain or the companion being an alligator or snapper turtle.
But now comes the tricky part, i want to give that Nixie 5 class levels in druid. I tried looking for an example.
I find a (no class levels) nixie CR 1 with Str 7, Dex 16, Con 13, Int 12, Wis 13, Cha 18
And a nixie lvl 5 rogue with Str 10, Dex 22, Con 14, Int 12, Wis 10, Cha 21
I can't find the cause for the difference in the ability scores.
I'll need to know the mechanics for that, if i'm to make a druid that doesn't come too low in ability scores, compared to the lvl 5 rogue nixie.
Thanks in advance.

Well, PCs' ability scores vary all over the place because they're either rolled or point-bought, even after racial adjustments. The Nixie rogue chose to dump Wisdom, the basic one didn't.
I'd just go ahead and add 5 levels of Druid to the basic Nixie. 13 Wisdom is enough to cast the spells a 5th-level druid would have, as long as you aren't focusing on spells with saving throws (or are okay with your players making most of the saves). You could say the Nixie put her level 4 ability bonus in Wisdom, giving her a 14 Wisdom.

Well the Nixie is a small creature so the physical side already has = -4 to str, +2 to dex, -2 to con, due to Size modifier listed in its starting stat scores.
..........................
Page 297 of bestiary: step 2: add class levels = Monster with class levels gain +4, +4, +2, +2, +0, and -2 adjustment to their ability scores, assigned in a manner that enhance their class abilities.
So starting with base line (size modifier have already been done) = Str 7, Dex 16, Con 13, Int 12, Wis 13, Cha 18
..........................
So would add the +4 to wis, +4 to cha, +2 to Dex, +2 to Con.
Leave Int alone.
Take another -2 to str. going to be a dump stat anyway.
+1 to any ability score of your choose due to level = Would recommend Wis, as it is an uneven number so +1 to it would round it up to an extra stat Bonus to DC vs saves. Or to Con for extra hp, for a single fight encounter might be better.
This would add to your druid ability to cast spells, pull/push your animal companion (summoned creature), and boost your spell-like nixie spell ability DC save number to be harder to resist.
..........................
Wild-shape is for disguise or mobility.
Animal Companion for Nature bond = for that extra attacker since you want to avoid melee combat yourself with such weak str.
Spells: No idea, so few spells; very s with what kind of party your up against or if you have time to plan a day ahead ??
Anyway hope that helps.

Oliver, much appreciated for your post's explanation.
To the party composition:
Lvl 4/maybe 5(doubtful)
Archery specced mobile fighter. [The works on shooting as much as possible]
Forgemaster cleric archetype.
Ice specced sorceress [loves & uses snowball, alot.]
Inquisitor
2 paladin/2 tattood sorcerer (saving the nixie is a personal side goal)
[Also has snowball]
Time to plan ahead, way plenty. They are in the SE near Veldraine in Varisia. The setting is in the Churlwood, way west. 360 miles if drawn a line.

In the bestiaries monsters with racial HD and no class levels are assumed to be perfectly average member of their species. They pretty much have average ability scores (11 11 11 10 10 10) modified by their "racial" traits.
Adding the +4, +4, +2, +2, +0, and -2 adjustment roughly gives them a 15 point buy (12 point buy + those three 11)
We can say that nixies' ability score racial traits are -4 Str, +6 Dex, +2 Con, +2 Int, +2 Wis,and +8 Cha. Give your druid the point buy you find appropriate (15 should be fine)
