Can Lawful characters take the Barbarian VMC?

I've seen a lot of arguments both for and against this; on one hand, Unchained makes no mention of alignments in the Barbarian VMC. On the other hand, some have said that it is taking from the barbarian class, and lawful barbarians cannot rage. Which view is right?

The Unchained Variant Multiclasses explicitly mention when you take the alignment restrictions of the secondary class - see the Druid VMC, Cleric VMC and Paladin VMC - and the Unchained Barbarian VMC does not mention this, nor does the Barbarian VMC gain the "Ex-Barbarian" class feature.

In my opinion, it is therefore entirely legitimate for Lawful classes to VMC Barbarian and Rage.

I see no reason not to there is nothing in the Barbarian VMC that says they can't be a certain alignment unlike the Paladin VMC(*grumble grumble*)

A while back, Mr. Seifter said that this was an intentional omission. (Too tired to go post-hunting.) It's easier to tell when you look at the monk VMC, which specifies what happens if you aren't lawful. ^_^

EDIT: Actually, forget tiredness. ^_^
