Can Unchained monks take feats form other sources that say monks of so and so level can take them as a bonus feat?

Scarab Sages

If those sources are legal under additional resources, yes. Unchained Monks are still Monks, and they gain bonus feats at the same levels as CRB monks.

Grand Lodge

Nice point Imbicatus. However there are some differences between CRB Monks and Unchained Monks. For one thing Unchained Monks can't take Monk archetypes, until and unless some come out explictly for the Unchained Monk.

Sadly I was looking for a Society Answer, since obviously in a home game yes or what ever your GM says is the Answer, Guess I will play it as I read it until a GM in society says otherwise.

There is a big difference between archetypes and feats. Archetypes are looking for specific class features. The unchained monk has (as i understand it -still not got the book :() changed all the class features such that it no longer qualifies for archetypes.

Feats on the other hand just want to know "are you a monk? y/n. are you level X? y/n". As far as I know, while we call it the 'unchained monk' for convenience it is still just called 'monk'. Unless it is actually, in type, called an unchained monk, then it is - as far as feats are concerned - just a monk.

For Society, Imbicatus's answer is applicable. The feats, requiring "monk levels" would apply fine to an unchained monk as long as the unchained monk has every other requirement for that feat.

For example, Horn of the Criosphinx cam be taken by both regular monk and unchained monk as bonus or regular feat at level 6 onwards, or Wings of the Androsphinx can be taken by the unchained monk as a level 1 bonus feat, orKi Throw at level 10 onwards.

Did you have a specific feat in mind that you're asking about?

There's gonna be cases where the unchained monk is either gonna need a different level (Monastic Legacy can only be taken at level 4) or mesh awkwardly with older feats: Spider Step and Cloud Step are able to be picked up by the unchained monk at the stated levels, but they're unusable until the unchained monk makes the choice for the slow fall ki power; once you spend the ki point to activate it, the feats would automatically max out at 50 ft as the unchained slow fall doesn't have a slow progression like the original flavour monk.

Things like Horn of the Criosphinx were what I was talking about and specifically as bonus feats not regular feat selections.

Then they're fine. Unchained monk gets bonus feats same time as regular monk (with the same default list too) and I can't think of any feats currently that have any issues expanding that list for unchained monks.
