Hi, all. I'll be at Comicazi (in Davis Square, Somerville MA) this Thursday at 7 PM. I'll have adventure 1-1A: Cloven Trail, the first adventure in the Season of the Righteous. If you are less familiar with the game and would like to learn it, I can also offer demos. I hope to see you there; feel free to post if you plan to stop by.

I have a commitment for Thursday already, but if it gets cancelled for some reason, I'll definitely be there.

Hopefully it goes well!

I'll be there with a Wizard deck. I haven't decided whether I will play Enora or Ezren. I'm afraid Enora is too squishy for Wrath, despite being made for the set.

Enora in Wraith might be the first time I'd actually choose to slot Arcane Armor into my deck.

Are we playing the modified 1-1A or the original 'hard mode'?

We are playing the adventure in its current form, as that is the PDF I have. Playing the old version in Organized Play would be unethical, in more ways than one. :P

But no really, last turn victories are great and all, but my heart can't handle the stress of another one just yet.

If you are still deciding and want to factor in party composition, I will be replaying with my WotR Kyra. She's stocking a pair of Cures. We may have another person or two, but no idea what they might play.

Looking at the characters and the Wizard deck, I'd pick Enora over CD Ezren. Neither have armor, the weapon is only useful if you run into a Golem, which as an aside I hope you don't do, and I like Enora's powers better. Besides, if it goes poorly you might just get the chance to complain to Keith in person. :P

It's odd that I'm hoping my regular group gets cancelled so I can see you guys, but I suspect it won't work out that way.

I did playtest an early version of 1A (increased damage, Sloth Demons instead of Demonlings) with Agna, Amaryllis, and Flenta (that's right, no healing). Enora and Kyra could totally take that on (delta a little luck of the draw).

Living on the edge of the Abyss is fun. -Failed motto of the Mendev recruitment drive.

This happened last night. It was myself, elcoderdude, David our Venture-Captain, and a player new to the game. David was supposed to run an RPG event but only had two players, so he ran Demonic Politics for them to teach them the ACG. One of them stayed and grabbed my pregen Harsk deck, while David had an Olinjack. We ended up losing due to time; Harsk scouted the villain on his last turn, but we didn't have enough time to spread out to cover all the remaining locations for a temp close and win. (Now that i think about it, I think our blessings deck was short 1 since elcoderdude should have played the last turn, but even then we'd have needed one turn after that for a chance to win). At least everyone snagged some deck upgrades.

I'll let elcoderdude give they "How did you do" post if he'd like, but my personal neat point of the game: We hit a Demonic Horde, and the new player ended up getting 3 of the 4 demonlings. He was playing Harsk with a conch shell in hand, so he was able to make the Perception 7 check all 3 times. He beat two of the demonlings and rolled snake eyes on other one, only needing to discard his Amulet of Life for the 3 damage that entailed. I've never seen a better use of a Conch Shell; I consider it a trash item. (He may have discarded it to uncover that Demonic Horde again; i forget if we found that via the shell or his scouting power. In any case, hooray for Auguring it to the bottom of the deck... until the Giant Fly decided to run away to that location forcing a shuffle)

Nice! 4 is a solid # to play, so I feel a bit better about not making it.

I actually like the Conch shell. It's not amazing, but few basic items are, and it filters quickly away if you need it to.

Hey, I would love to play Pathfinder ACG! Are there ever weekend meetups? For reference, I've played through the first 3 adventures of Rise of the Runelords and I've started the 4th.

There is one this weekend.

We don't have any recurring ACG events on weekends at the moment, though if there's enough interest I don't see why we couldn't.

But as Hawkmoon points out, this Saturday is Free RPG day, and I'll be doing demos inbetween the scheduled RPG sessions. I don't know where you are based and if you can get to Salem, MA, but if you can, stop by. If you are in Metro Boston but don't have a car, I believe Pandemonium Books and Games in Cambridge MA is doing the Free RPG day event, sp at the very least you'd have a chance as grabbing an Ekkie.

Thanks for the info. Salem is a pretty far drive from me, so I probably won't be able to get there. Hopefully, there will be meetups closer to where I am!

I likely won't be there, but it looks like another group of players will be giving 1-1B: Instant Inquisition a shot tomorrow evening at Comicazi.
They'll be starting at 6:30 this time. Three people are listed as signed up so far on the Boston Lodge's Warhorn posting.

Actually I did make it. Table Composition: Abarundi, CD Mirasel, CD Kyra, and me as WotR Kyra.
1-1B is a boonfest so we acquired what we could and ignored what we couldn't. We got lucky in that Abarundi's Conch Shell scouted the Villain, so we knew where he was and that we needed to make an Int/Knowledge check to not evade him. In the end, it was my Kyra that fought him (best Knowledge at the table) with a Mace, some combat support from Abarundi, and a whole pile of blessings from the table.

Interesting story/fluff things: Mirasel acquired a Riftwarden from the Marketplace. She continued exploring, and of course the henchmen at the marketplace was a Blackfire Adept. Also, Tancred was hiding out at the very top of the Manor House.

The Comicazi crew will be playing 1-1C tomorrow evening, again starting at 6:30. This time I'm fairly certain I won't make it, so you should join them! So far 3 people are signed up on Warhorn, playing Abarundi, CD Mirasel, and CD Kyra.

As an aside, I really need to get the Tears at Bitter Manor group I'm GMing and the Comicazi PACG games on alternate weeks...

I'm sorry I can't make it. I'll try to make the next one.I

Quick after-action report:
We got rather lucky with henchmen placement in this one, and finished by 7:30. I used my t-shirt reroll (for the 1 that came up on a d20), but other than that it was smooth sailing. Given we finished so early, we decided to go straight into 1-2B as well. This one was more of a challenge, mostly because we ended up with an Arboreal Blight and a couple of Demonic Hordes in the decks. As WotR Kyra, I was happy for all the undead foes to blast with my power, especially the Undead armies. We forgot to slot in the Banner of Valor we earned from 1-2A, but everything ended up alright in the end. We finished up just as Comicazi was closing and gently asking us to head out soon.
