Advis on a sword and dagger build

Advice

Hey guys sorry if this has already been answered but I'm looking for some afvice on building a class that uses a sword in one hand and a dagger in an other. I like the idea of using the sword breaker dagger and either a rapier or scimitar but not soo sure what class would be the best. I'm kinda leaning toward a ranger but open to suggestions

No reason you would have to actually attack with the swordbreaker all the time. You could keep the swordbreaker in hand for disarm and sunder attempts while fighting primarily with your rapier. If that route appeals, consider Swashbuckler or the Daring Champion Cavalier archetype.

This is good advice and also closer to how TWF works in Real figthing. The dagger could be of another material than the sword so you would have a chance vs unusual enemies. Most of the time having a dagger in the of hand would also (combined with QuickDraw and a few other feats) allow a mid level swashbuckler or daring champion a decent short ranged option. But not so good vs. damage resistances.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If you do go for the Swashbuckler or Daring Champion, an effective route is to make the Dagger a +1 Answering weapon. For a mere 8000 gold, that gives you the equivalent of a +5 weapon when doing your parry/riposte routine, which is dirt cheap and plays into the classic 'attack with rapier, defend with dagger' combat style.
