Wanted some ideas for roleplaying a skald

Advice

I have several ideas for roleplaying a Skald, however, while I like my couple ideas, I'm on the verge of scrapping them, simply because I cant quite see how to go from head - table.

So, what are some ideas that I can adapt, for roleplaying a Skald. Concept is a human, from a barbarian tribe. Seriously considered taking a page from the Aiel, from the eye of the world series, but.....well, don't want to just blatantly rip it off, for the one, that doesn't seem entertaining, and two, seems cheap in any case.

Oh, I, more or less, based my Skald on a combination of Eddy Van Halen, and Dr.Rockso.

EDIT: Also, some Snowflame.

Ku-ku-ku-ku-hot for teacher?

The first time I got my head into the skald, I thought of Herger from The 13th Warrior (the sort of old viking with wavy blonde hair).

Well, with the Belkzen War Drummer, I keep thinking of the Orcs, playing the war drums, that set the pace for the marching armies of Sauron.

Why not read some old stories about skalds and get some new ideas?

Try this 13th century story

Second on this - The Skald is the Heavy Metal cousin of the bard.

He lives for the fight, so he can make awesome stories of it and get free drinks and ladies while telling these stories.

Playing a skald at Phoenix Tournament at the moment it's all about drinking, brawling and let the crowed cheer at you.
Best scene ever:
Enemy fearing the skald out of the arena, next thing my group saws: Skald sitting in the crowd with a drink, next to two beautifull ladies and cheering at the group. "Sorry, but did you saw this redhead dream of a woman? I had to go and you managed to beat the enemy without me" *near dead Half-Orc barbarian is thinking of spending his last rage rounds to smash me*

This repeats at every fight were one enemy can fear.. don't know why I always fail these rolls. :)
