bottled ooze discovery and augment summoning

Rules Questions

does the augment summoning feat work with any of the oozes a alchemist can make with the bottled ooze discovery

The Exchange

Augment Summoning
If it is a "summon" spell, any creatures summoned are buffed for the duration of that spell.

well my confusion is cause A.ooze'y extracts can be prepared as a spell and this line from the discovery

"The ooze is not under the alchemist’s control, but is otherwise treated as a summoned creature."

I don't believe so. I think when it says summon it means either summon monster or summon nature's ally I,II,III,IV, etc.

Because it's treated as a summoned creature I would say that it would certainly apply. What else would be the point of saying it's treated as a summoned creature if it wasn't treated as a summoned creature?

It's just being a silly rules lawyer to say that extracts are not spells. In fact I don't even agree with the assertion that RAW extracts are not spells. I would only say that they're not cast, (hence why an alchemist is considered to be not a spellcaster) and the description makes no mention of having to cast.

Considering that the feat requires spell focus, and the vast majority of all alchemist spells have no DC to have against, an alchemist would essentially have to spend double the feats just to get this effect.
