Animal Companions, Eidolons?, Mounts and Leadership with Automatic Progression

Advice

So, unchained is out and it's awesome, and if you're like me you think Aut Progression is dope, now you don't have to waste slots with borin' stuff. But, like, what does one even do for Animal Companions, Eidolons (I guess), mounts and Leadership Buddies. Maybe the leadership buddies are easier I guess but the point stands, how does it interact with your posses as it were? I mean, I like outfitting my AC with belts and junk so it kinda hurts yo. An rules or suggestions?

for automatic progression, I would consider the companion/mount/follower to be four levels below the main character.

Another option would be to let the player create a scaling item for their AC. Basically let them spend a set percentage of their WBL on the boosts provided by automatic progression.

Currently yes, the Automatic Progression bonus does nothing for them.

As a patch, I would allow characters to spend part of their (now halved) wealth by level on granting the same sort of "inherent" bonuses to animal companions, eidolons, mounts, and cohorts at the same cost rate as what the items would be in a normal game.

The idea being to preserve the overall WBL for the character and his "belongings".
