What are some cities that's main thing / attraction is an arena?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I'm making a PFS character who is a half orc who was "bred" for the sole purpose of making a shady group some extra coin by kicking butt in an arena and was wondering what were some cities that either at least have or the city basically revolves around, an arena. Preferably the latter.

I'm sure this could be put in advice but I thought since I was asking about Golarion this would be a better place to put this. Feel free to flag it if this should be somewhere else.

Thx in advance. :)

The city of Tymon in the River Kingdoms is pretty much a city that revolves around the Arena. In fact its ruler has to win through gladiator combat.

Edit: Cheliax also has a tradition of Arena fighting through out the entire nation. Any slave can fight in the Arena, and if they win they earn their "freedom." But at the end of the year all the champions from throughout the year must battle in Egorian, the last champion left standing earns a title of nobility.

Riddleport has a large arena in it, as well as some underground fighting rings. I only know what we found out from playing Second Darkness, which starts there, and we never went to the arena, so I'm sorry I don't have any more information.

In addition to the ones mentioned above, the Bloodworks in Urglin is a particularly brutal combat arena in Urgir. On the flip side is Serpent's Run in Magnimar, but they don't typically hold fights to the death. Much more of a performance thing there.

I would start at the Pathfinder Wiki.

There's even a category for famous arenas.

I'm a huge fan of the Pathfinder Wiki: I use whenever I'm making a new character and whenever I'm prepping a scenario. Thanks for all the work!

You're welcome.

On a side note, it's very useful for us to know how you use Pathfinder Wiki, and also what parts of it could use expanding. We regularly monitor the "Campaign Setting" threads for this kind of information, but you could also just tell us, either here or in the Reference Desk on our website.

In addition to the arenas mentioned on that listing in the Pathfinder Wiki, there's also the town of Arena located on Widowmaker Isle in the Shackles.

A little further north, there's "Green Blood on a Black Rock." in the Sodden Lands. This is a less traditional arena and generally focuses on beast versus beast fighting, but I figured a mention wouldn't hurt :)

Added a Tournaments category!!

Not listed on the wiki is the Blood Circus in Ilizmagorti.
