Obviously, a lot of old archetypes for the monk won't work with the Unchained monk, including a bunch of really popular ones like Zen Archer. What I propose in this thread is that we look for reasonable adaptations for these archetypes so that GMs and players can use them with the Unchained monk, should they so desire.
Of the Paizo-published monk archetypes out there, only the master of many styles, the hamatulatsu master and the weapon adept are completely compatible as things stand (technically qinggong kind of does but is completely unnecessary with the qinggong ki power; monk vows, while technically not an archetype, kind of act like one and would be compatible too). All the rest would require at least some alterations.
My assumption is that, for most archetypes, the new abilities would have text along the lines of "This replaces the ki power normally gained at 4th level" or something similar. Many of these conversions might be handled quite simply in that fashion, but I could see places where a given archetype might want to be exclusive with a certain ki power. Others might be obsolete if there is a ki power that does functionally the same thing.
So - what are your guys' thoughts?

The archetype I most want to adapt first (and no, I'm not sure why) is monk of the seven forms.
Lightning Finish is fine as written, and replacing Stunning Fist works as well as it ever did. Likewise, the changes to the bonus feats don't require any attention.
Sirocco Fury should basically stay the same, I think, but it should kick in at 12th level and upgrade at 16th, and replace the ki powers normally gained at that level.
It's Endurance I'm stuck on. I think I want to rewrite it like so:
Desert Stamina: The monk of the seven forms must select the ki metabolism ki power at 4th level. In addition, he gains the ability to cast endurance elements as a spell-like ability, using his monk level as his caster level. He must spend 1 ki point to use this ability.

Yes, but last I knew, neither document includes the monk of the seven forms. Am I wrong in that?
Nope. I'm planning on doing a sequel in the next month or so to cover the Player Companion archetypes as well as the archetypes that I wrote in the Kitsune Compendium and Samsaran Compendium.
In the meantime, the Everyman Gaming, LLC versions gives you a list of suggestions on how to convert most existing monk archetypes for the unchained monk.
