Could someone explain Feral Combat Training to me.

Rules Questions

The feat's info:

Prerequisite: Improved Unarmed Strike, Weapon Focus with selected natural weapon.

Benefit: Choose one of your natural weapons. While using the selected natural weapon, you can apply the effects of feats that have Improved Unarmed Strike as a prerequisite, as well as effects that augment an unarmed strike.

Special: If you are a monk, you can use the selected natural weapon with your flurry of blows class feature.

While I don't know what feats it is actually talking about that I can apply to my Natural weapon, I feel that is kind of self explanatory, I could per se do a stunning fist attack with a claw or something I guess.

What I don't understand is the special part. Does it mean that I can make my natural weapon attacks after a flurry at a -5 penalty? Or does it mean that I can incorporate them directly into the flurry like replacing an unarmed strike with a natural weapon attack.

FAQ:

Quote:

What does “with” in the Special line for Feral Combat Training mean for monks making a flurry of blows?

Normally a monk who has natural attacks (such as a lizardfolk monk with claw attacks) cannot use those natural attacks as part of a flurry of blows. Feral Combat Training allows you to use the selected natural attack as if it were a monk weapon—you can use it as one of your flurry of blows attacks, use it to deploy special attacks that require you to use a monk weapon, apply the effects of the natural weapon (such as a poisonous bite) for each flurry of blows attack, and so on.

The feat does not allow you to make your normal flurry of blows attack sequence plus one or more natural attacks with the natural weapon. In other words, if you can flurry for four attacks per round, with this feat you still only make four attacks per round... but any number of those attacks may be with the selected natural weapon.

Oh I see it was Faq'd. Thanks for that bit of info.

If you're polymorphed into whatever race Bokrug is (he's a Large magical beast, so it's doable), and you have Feral Combat Training (tentacle beard), then you can do one of the following

1) Attack with the bite, the claws, the sting, and the beard. natural attacks only
2) Put a sword in one claw hand, attack iteratively with that, and get the bite, one claw, the sting, and the beard as secondary natural attacks. iteratives, with a secondary attack or 4
3) flurry of blows with your hands, feet, elbows, knees, whatever, and beard. unarmed strikes with the extra attack or two, and you can use the beard if you want.
