Take a drow and add to it all the undesirable characteristics of a dwarf, and you're getting close. Ugly, sadistic, lying, cheating lot they are. And slavers! The scrolls say they descended from those dwarves who heard Torag's prophecy and decided to do the exact opposite - digging down instead of down, then making a pact with the dark smith when they realized their stupidity.

The only good thing one could say about them is that they hate light and tend to leave the surface world alone.
