vermin empathy and swarms

Rules Questions

Can a verminous hunter with vermin empathy change the initial attitude of a swarm?

I don't see why not, but during that one minute you're trying they're probably still going to be eating you.

time constraints aside, I suspect it won't work anyway.Vermin/wild empathy are essentially diplomacy checks which as far as I know can only affect one creature at a time and swarms are immune to effects that have a specific number of targets (such as 'one').

That said that appears to just be the way I've seen diplomacy played, a quick skim and I can't see anything specifically limiting it to one creature, so I could be wrong.

Verminous hunters get Swarm Stride which makes them "..safely pass through swarms of vermin and does not take swarm damage while within a vermin swarm's space. In addition, he is immune to a swarm's distraction ability."

If it is possible, I don't know what would or could be possible next with the swarm or any other vermin.
