Ok so i got this as a piece of loot last week and im trying to figure out exactly what it does. Some of my fellow players say that since its just a breastplate it can only look like other chest items like a vest or tabard or coat or whatever. The actual description says a Glamered item can change into a "normal set of clothing" so whats the verdict does my thing controll the appearance of only my chest slot or is it infact a full set of clothing change? That leads to my next question, what is a normal set of clothing? I mean for a hellknight it would be a set of scary looking full plate right? Or a lawyer would be a nice 3 piece suit what are the limits?

Clothing. A Glamered set of armor cannot be made to look like another set of armor.
And, it's an illusion. You can make it appear as a 3 piece suit, and not wear any other clothing, but the moment you dismiss the illusion, or remove the breastplate, or enter an antimagic aura, you're essentially naked.

I've never heard that interpretation before.
Glamered, for reference.
Just as with the Sleeves of Many Garments (which also has Disguise Self as a crafting component), I would believe its appearance could be changed at will.

I also think it's more FUN to imagine being able to make it any garment. And more useful--now my barbarian axeswinger can look like she's wearing a beautiful gown for the royal ball!
As far as the second question, 'normal' clothing is pretty much clothes, like you found in the clothing section. Even that hellknight has to get the armour off at some point. In fact, the glamer is probably best for when you need to look unarmoured for some reason (like, say, being a barbarian axeswinger at a royal ball). Now, since it's a glamer, I think you don't get any special benefits that aren't linked to how your clothes look, but that would mainly cover the cold weather outfit anyway, or if you stripped your monk of his/her robes to use them as sashes.
Of course now I ponder adding 'glamered' to an amulet of natural armour or bracers of armour.
Still, again, it's an illusion, so make sure you have something on for real under that thing.
