Would Detect Undead detect a ghost who has used Malevolence to possess someone?

I don't see why not. There's nothing in the text of Malevolence, Magic Jar (on which Malevolence is based), or the Detect Undead spell which gives the ghost any ability to evade detection through magical means.
I guess the ghost could use the Misdirection spell (if available to it) to detect as something else.
