Numerian monsters are stated to live in cold plains (Numeria). I like to think of it as chilly but not seriously cold, with odd climate swings and meteorological events thanks to the exposure to pollutin, radiation, gravitons, plasma, and other strange and alien matters and energies. Naturally, there are some geothermal differences in the Gorum Pots (very warm). Also, there's also a lot of wacky weather, talked about in Numeria, Land of Fallen Stars, off the top of my head I can remember acid rain.

i would look towards Wyoming-Utah for a similar climate, with of course some serious weather issues from the Worldwound and of course you know, alien radiation and all.
actually also research weather in Ukraine around Chernobyl
*SPOILER ALERT*
this is just my opinion, no need to heed:-)
Unless you switch the hemisphere Numeria is in or put it in your home-brew campaign not sure how you get "Australia Weather" from where Numeria is in relation to the rest of Golarion, or even why it needed its own thread if it didn't matter what anyone else said.
but as i said, no need to heed, and it sounds like you're having a blast so what do i know:-p

Actually, with the Divinity crash you could argue that trapped exhaust particles localised in Numeria, compounded from 9,000 years of e-waste chemical fumes have created a heat-trapping greenhouse effect in the country centered on Starfall. CFCs destroy the ozone layer in the nation and then pollution in the air traps the heat and wards off the snows.
I do like the idea that Numerian farmers and scavengers would welcome the rains because all the metal-based robots would go into hiding during the wet season. Except when the rain turns out to be acid, of course.

I don't play in Golarion, I play in my own homebrew where, by a fluke (or shared memes) my equivalent of Numeria is Nimmeria. Basically Thundarr the Barbarian land. So its located more towards the equator. But I am flexible, if cold works better I would do that.
The reason I expect I imagine Mad Max like setting is because, well, the reference to wasteland through out the books and empty barren land. Reminds me of Mad Max, Fallout1, Fallout2, Wasteland1, Wasteland2 etc. Technological apocalypse settings in sci-fi have a very strong desert bent generally.
Cold would fit Cimmeria more if that was the model for Numeria. Which it may well be.

Well numeria is desert, just northern desert :-)
Like I said sounds fun, I get the mad max stuff and all:-)
I believe Numeria is defined as "cold plains" rather than "cold desert".
Anyways, I like the feel of a warm, arid country as well, but I'll probably stick to chilly and arid.

Speaking of weather where was the acid rain mentioned? The Nimmeria source book?
I also scatter alien flora through the region taking inspiration from Defiance. Axiomatic Trees, rub-cactus etc etc.
Yes, acid rain and other weather phenomenon was stated and talked about in Numeria, Land of Fallen Stars.
