I want a monkey jetpack, build thoughts?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So the monkey has access to fly spell infusions and has muleback cords which are affixed to my back so the monkey can carry me.

The monkey has three strength and with the muleback cords he has 11.
With ant haul he has 17 and so can carry 173 pounds at medium load.

That might be enough but instead of ant haul what else can I do?

Strength boosting items.

Also, if this is your goal then an air elemental is a better way to go. Larger size (small as opposed to tiny). Plus better and faster fly speed (100' Perfect).

My monkey is my familiar.

I figured strength boosting items but with not using ant haul that would need like a +6 one...

TECHNICALLY, as long as he's wearing a Masterwork Backpack, he treats his Str as 1 higher when calculating his carrying capacity, although that's pretty cheese.

lol yes that is quite cheese, so much cheese that I might go for it...

Muleback chords and Heavyload belt. One is effectively ant haul and the other is a str bonus for carrying only.

Belt, Heavyload
Aura faint transmutation; CL 1st
Slot belt; Price 2,000 gp; Weight 3 lbs.

DESCRIPTION

This wide leather is held together with two strands of oxen skin threaded through holes on each end.

The belt’s wearer is affected as though subject to a permanent ant haul spell.

CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS

Craft Wondrous Item, ant haul; Cost 1,000 gp.

Muleback Cords
Aura faint transmutation; CL 3rd
Slot shoulders; Price 1,000 gp; Weight 1/4 lb.

DESCRIPTION

These thick leather cords wrap around the wearer’s biceps and shoulders. When worn, they make the wearer’s muscles appear larger than normal. The wearer treats his Strength score as 8 higher than normal when determining his carrying capacity. This bonus does not apply to combat, breaking items, or any other Strength-related rolls, it only contributes to the amount of equipment or material the wearer can carry.

CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS

Craft Wondrous Item, bull's strength; Cost 500 gp

Yes yes yes.

Thank you.

So the muleback cords will be fashioned into the backpack so that I am through the masterwork backpack as I am affixed to the muleback cords and the heavyload belt will be added as well for a safe amount of carrying capacity for the monkey.

Then the monkey can jump around onto my back and clip himself into the muleback cords/masterwork backpack and will be able to lift me and carry me around for the fly spell.

A monkey jetpack, huzzah huzzah huzzah, thank you all.
