Grappling with a giant squid

Rules Questions

Say a huge squid succeeds with two attacks and two grab (grapple) checks.

Is the target:
A pinned
B grappled twice
C grappled once

How does target escape.
1 one escape artist check
2 two escape artist checks

I was under the impression (and I don't see anything to clarify this in the rules) that the answer is C the target is just grappled once and you get out of it the same way you would get out of any other grapple. So one escape artist or grapple check will get you out.

Hopefully someone else can by with a better reason for what this is. I can say though that you can't be grappled twice and even if you are pinned it only takes one check to get out.

I don't think the second grab triggers at all if the first one succeeds. If the first one fails, you can roll the second one.

Grab doesn't let you maintain a grapple, so you can't use it to go from grappled to pinned. You can't grapple the same creature twice. (Even multiple creatures grappling the same target only count as aiding the primary grappler.)

One grab succeeds. One escape artist roll to get out (or CMB check: my halfing tetori will gleefully take on your huge squid--she might fail, but it will be fun!)

I would like to point out for clarification the pinned check may be harder to escape artist from since penalties go from -4 Dex to Denied Dex bonus... the combat maneuver may also be harder if the grappled creature has an ability that utilizes his dex for CMB.

If I were DMing I would either:
-Roll the first attack, then grapple attempt, if they are grappled then the next attack hits easier, if not then the second attack gets a chance to grapple after it hits.
-Roll both attacks and if they hit treat the two tentacles as multiple creatures grappling, thus making it an Aid Another +2 bonus to a single grapple check.

Once you're pinned, there is no double pinned condition, the monster's option would be straight forward damage. The squid also has he option of taking a -20 to it's CMB to negate it's grappled condition, and applying it's bite attack on you (or someone else) as well.
