Ok, so lets assume some bloke wants to play a "divine Caster" and has narrowed that margin down to
The Hippy druid
and
The rockstar cleric
If the aspect and feel of both become a wash for the player, what are the mechanical differences he can look at?
Is one class better than the other? more versatile? more fun? What are things to keep in mind mechanically.
The Cleric and Druid happen to be two of the most powerful and versatile classes in the game. He can't go wrong with either of them; one thing I will say is that I think the Druid has a better spell list for being a dedicated caster than the cleric, but if he plans on mixing it up in melee they're both strong candidates.
