Vision of Doom 2nd spell

Rules Questions

In my Skull and Shackles campaign the party was going to link Epidemic with Vision of Doom to attack the Wormwood's crew. I ruled since it would effect more than 1 creature eventually that it didn't work. Anyone see any errata with this, or come across a something similar?

Epidemic only targets one creature, so it's valid to deliver it via Vision of Doom. The fact that the target can then transfer the disease caused by the spell is irrelevant.

We went over the rules and spells enough and yes that's what the rules state it can work. My question is should it work? This is one I feel could be exploited. Would you want to be a pc and get this whammy from your DM? Although I try not to be "cheaty" so maybe it's just my perspective. So I went with no said I would post here for feedback and rewarded them for ingenuity.

I see no problem with it. For the most part it'll only be effective against creatures that are much weaker than the caster who's doing it.

Like a village or sailors on a ship.
