Spellstrike + Merciful Weapon?

Rules Questions

If I have the Merciful property on a weapon that I'm spellstriking with, does it make my spell damage non-lethal, too? My initial thought was no, but I guess it wouldn't really matter either way.

Lantern Lodge

Nope, it still deals lethal damage.

You can make a spell deal non-lethal damage with the merciful metamagic.

Your initial thought is correct. Merciful turns all the damage the weapon does into non-lethal. Anything else (flaming, shocking grasp) is damage in addition to the weapon damage and would not be effected.

If you particularly want to deal non-lethal spell damage, look into Frostbite.

There's a debuff build based around knocking everyone around you unconscious with hilarious amounts of nonlethal damage and penalties to everything.
