bonuses on attribute rolls and DC.

Rules Questions

Fairly simple question.

Do bonuses added directly to attribute based checks add to spelk DCs appropriate to the attribute?

I.E. random sorcerer has the celestial obedience to Arshea, which grants a +4 circumstance bonus to all charisma checks.

Does this add to spell DC?

My assumption is "no." However it's ambiguous enough (because I can't find rules for or against) that I'd rather ask before springing something similar at the game table on my players or on an unsuspecting GM.

Appreciate any advice on this. Thanks

"Check: A check is a d20 roll which may or may not be modified by another value. The most common types are attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and saving throws."

Are DCs a d20 roll that you add something to? No, no they are not.

No. An attribute check is when you roll a d20, add your attribute modifier, and compare that to a DC to find out if you succeed or fail.

i belive that an atribute check is when you add the atribute bonus to a roll you make. not those made by others. so while a bonus to all str checks might add to attack and damage(or might not as in 3.5 it was only added to str skill checks and raw str checks like for breaking stuff). it is clear that a bonus that increase YOUR checks that involve charisma doesn't effect other things that depand on your charismae(like a power's usage per day that depand on it etc). if it was so. it would have been easer to just say +X to your atribute socre. as in the 2nd level spells (bulls str.fox cunning etc).

A DC is not a check so the +4 is not added to the DC of the spell.

Good to go. That's what I thought. Just wanted to confirm.
