What happens when you crit on a maximized or empowered spell?

Rules Questions

For instance, you had a Empowered & Maximized Scorching Ray caster level 11, and one or more of those rays were critical hits.

How do you figure out the damage for this type of thing?

Short version: The maximized damage is doubled and then you roll the half the base damage of the spell twice and add it all together.

4d6 maximized =24 X 2 =48
4d6 ÷ 2 = a
4d6 ÷|2 = b

48 + a + b = your total

Or

48 + 4d6 = your total

The first version is more by the book. The 2nd way is easier.

Thanks A LOT!

4d6 ÷|2 = b should be 4d6 ÷2 = b. The "|" was an accident. :)
