No:

When you cast a polymorph spell that changes you into a creature of the animal, dragon, elemental, magical beast, plant, or vermin type, all of your gear melds into your body. Items that provide constant bonuses and do not need to be activated continue to function while melded in this way (with the exception of armor and shield bonuses, which cease to function). Items that require activation cannot be used while you maintain that form.

Note: There is a magic armor/shield property called "Wild" that will allow you to keep the armor and shield bonuses.

As Gauss said. And at higher levels with a Wild shield and Wild full plate - druids can have the highest AC in the game. (With the possible exception of dex monks.)

. Ok I still don't understand yes or no do I keep the bonus from my hide armor and wood shield in wolf form?

Scarab Sages

However, Wild is an extremely expensive enchantment.

Another option is to drop your armor and shield, wildshape into an earth elemental, and then pick up and re-equip the items.

No. Not unless they're enchanted with the "Wild" enchantment. And that's not viable until mid-high levels because it's a +3 enchantment. Therefore any "Wild" armor or shield would need to be encahnted at a cost of at least 16,000 gp to work when in wolf form. (+4 enchantment total)

You do not.

There is a specific enchantment -- Wild -- that would allow you to keep those bonuses, but it's extremely expensive.

As stated above. No. You do not keep the shield bonus to AC when in wolf form.

How much would it cost for a set of hide armor? Do you think my dm would allow me to have my druid mentor enchanted them for me for a fee or reward?

A minimum of 16,000 gp for a +1 wild item. As for if your GM will let you have one, I don't know your GM.

16,000 GP is supposed to not be available until mid-high levels.

Sovereign Court

As I mentioned above - it would cost at least 16,000gp on top of the cost of masterwork armor.

Of note - I wouldn't bother for hide armor. I'd wait until you have good armor first. Hide is fine for low level druids (except dwarves who should get heavy armor prof & stoneplate) - but later on you'll want to find some more exotic armor which you can wear.

Edit: Dang ninjas!
