do I get a free composite longbow if it's my choice? do i get to pick any #? seriously i want to pick a composite longbow for my arcane bond(it's for arcane duelist).

Shadow Lodge

RAW doesn't place a limit on your choice of weapon.

The extra value of a composite longbow with a good draw doesn't make a big difference in the grand scheme of things, especially when you gain it at level 5 as an arcane duelist.

I might raise my eyebrow if you wanted a 3,000gp pepperbox...

Liberty's Edge

it would be a +0 strength bow. It is the base weapon from the table

Shadow Lodge

Hm, pfsrd includes the first few strength ratings in their table and I assumed that reflected their inclusion in Ultimate Equipment but my hard copy doesn't agree. Shar Tahl may be correct.

Just get the base (+0) composite bow and then put the Adaptive enchantment on it.

Or pick up the Exceptional Pull feat if your strength bonus is only +2.

Scarab Sages

I could use a conclusive verdict on this myself, given that I've been grooming an aspiring Arcane Archer for Organized Play.

The rules do not say anything about a "base" weapon; only that it is of Masterwork quality and are not made of any special material. There is nothing in RAW that does NOT allow strength bonuses on an Arcane Bond Composite Longbow. Local rules may vary.

For an Arcane Duelist, I probably wouldn't give a free weapon. They get arcane bond at fifth level, not first level like a wizard. The arcane bond ability says you get the free item when you start play.

So, does that mean that if I am going for EK, and start with a level of Fighter, that when I go to second level, and take my first level of Wizard, I wouldn't get my Arcane Bonded item in your game, but that I would if I swapped the class levels?

Yeah, pretty much.
