qinggong monk

a question about this monk variant imagine i have reached lvl 6 and i want to change the lvl 5 ability(high jump), but instead of changing with a lvl 6 ki power, i change for a lvl 4 ki power, is this legal? so basically imagine a combination of qinggong monk with hungry ghost monk, i have the life funnel ability, but when i reach lvl 12 instead of diamond soul i get wholeness of body from qinggong power lvl 7... something like that

I thought it wouldnt be the case, but examining this:

"Requirements: All ki powers have a minimum monk level requirement to select them. A monk who does not meet this requirement cannot select that ki power."

Makes it sound like all you need is to be high enough level to take previous powers, so you may substitute your higher level abilities for lower qinggong ones.

That is correct, you can replace any allowed monk ability with any qinggong ability that is of that level or less.

You can also use retraining to do the same thing. So, if you kept your 4th level power, and at level 6, realized you don't use it enough and want to switch it out, you could retrain that 4th level power to any qinggon power requiring 4th or less. You couldn't retrain it to a 6th level power instead though.

wohooo an almost unkilable monk :D pity i just hate that only ability punishing kick, that i cant get rid of
