Stonelord, Riding a Large Earth Elemental

Rules Questions

Currently I'm level 9. My plan is to at level 11 to move around in Defensive Stance by having my Large Earth Elemental come up underneath me. I have no clue mechanically how this would work but I've heard of a Cavalier that does something similar. I figure that I'm going to need skill points in ride, but does anyone else have more input on this. Thank you for your time.

Just make sure your large earth elemental's appearance is something quadrupedal or hexapedal or something, many would impose a penalty to riding a humanoid-shaped creature.

While in a defensive stance, a stalwart defender cannot willingly move from his current position through any means (including normal movement, riding a mount, teleportation, or willingly allowing allies to carry him).

If you let your Elemental ferry you around, you'll lose your Defensive Stance.

EDIT: For completeness's sake
