Does "Warded Against Nature" protect you from wild animal attacks?

Rules Questions

I haven't been able to find any extra information on the drawback "Warded Against Nature" (from champions of corruption) anywhere and I'm curious as to how it effects hostile animals you may come across in the wild.

"Effect: Animals do not willingly approach within 30 feet of you, unless you or the animal's master succeeds at a DC 20Handle Animal, Ride, or wild empathycheck. Animal companions, familiars, and mounts granted by your class abilities are immune to this effect."

Say I was allowed to take this drawback while playing skulls and shackles...
Inevitablely at some point during the campaign I would end up in ocean surrounded by sharks. Would this drawback protect me from being eaten by sharks because they simply don't want to come near me?

"Animals do not willingly approach within 30 feet of you"

Safe so far.

"unless you or the animal's master succeeds at a DC 20 Handle Animal, Ride, or Wild Empathy check."

You're not stupid enough to do any of those things, right?

I think you're safe.

I'll also protect you from T-Rexes.

It's pretty common that in any game system using some sort of Flaws, at least some of them are actually beneficial to antisocial weirdos (i.e. PCs).

Grand Lodge

How is this at all a drawback?

It's a drawback because it can make a lot of things extremely difficult for your character, like riding a horse, or even standing next to a horse. Good luck visiting that farming village without pissing everyone off...

Because not everyone is an anti-social weirdo like a PC, and the basic medieval economy that (despite the presence of magic) pervades Pathfinder is predicated heavily on the presence of and interaction with animals.

but... the drawbacks are made for PCs.

They should be designed around anti-social weirdos.

Sovereign Court

In Vampire the Masquerade, there was a "flaw" that you weren't visible on mirrors, cameras etcetera.

Also, there was a clan of vampires cursed with gross disfigurement. As in, can't possibly pass for human. Those guys could cloud people's minds to not see them, or see them as a normal human. But they couldn't fool cameras.

Oh well...

Liberty's Edge

Will "Warded against Nature" force hostile animals to withdraw? (assuming they are their own master, or would the packleader be considered the "master?")

note, it doesn't stop them from holding their ground or make them flee, they simply won't approach you, you can approach them... and then get eaten. nor does it say that they are afraid of you, or you gain any bonus when dealing with them.
