Adopted trait for SLA?

Rules Questions

If i chose Adopted as a trait can i take the Aasimar trait? it is a magical trait. but the trait dose say any trait. throw me a bone people.

Race traits and racial traits are different things.

Adopted lets you take a trait like Finish the Fight. That is a race trait.

It does not let you take an Aasimar's Racial Traits.

so i would have to take the racial heritage to get that trait? but i guess at that point i might as well just play the race.

What trait are you talking about here? The daylight SLA racial trait? Racial heritage does not give you that trait either: the only way to get it is to actually play an aasimar.

Race traits are not the same thing as racial traits.

Racial Heritage does not give access to racial traits. It would let you qualify as a Dwarf or what have you for feats, but that's it.

Now, Mythic Racial Heritage does let you take a racial trait, but that's a different matter altogether.

It also gets stilted by the fact that Racial Heritage requires picking a Humanoid and Aasimar are Native Outsiders.

ah ok thanks. i try to stick with humans they are my preferred race. but i guess its time for a change.
