Hunter Animal Companion and Skirmisher Tricks

Rules Questions

So a player brought this line to my attention:

Hunter's Animal Companion ability wrote:
A hunter may teach her companion hunter's tricks from the skirmisher ranger archetype instead of standard tricks.

What are the bounds on this? To writ:

  • Skirmisher archetype has 1/2 Ranger level + Wis mod uses per day of tricks, does that still hold?
  • And if so, whose levels and Wis mod are used-- the Hunter's or the animal companion's?
  • What happens with abilities like Bolster Companion-- since the Animal Companion is the one who knows the trick, do they get to use it on the Hunter himself, or is it wasted?
  • What are the DCs to teach these tricks?

My knee-jerk response was to use the effective druid level of the Hunter paired with the animal companion's Wis mod to determine uses per day, set the DCs at 20, and just avoid stuff like Bolster Companion outright (fortunately for me, the player isn't interested in those which renders the question academic but interesting). However, I'd like to know if there's a more solid ruling on the matter anywhere-- or barring that, what the community thinks.
