Making a young PC with PC Class Levels

Rules Questions

So I joined a Pathfinder campaign with some friends and I decided to make a child PC, but I have to take NPC class levels instead of PC(Y'Know, since I'm just a kid.)

But is there some way to get PC class levels? I feel like there was a trait that existed for that sole purpose, but I couldn't find it. Any thoughts?

The rules for young adventurers are dumb. Ask the DM if you can have class levels anyway.

There are a million and one examples in fantasy of humans under the age of 16 who are very clearly not Experts and Warriors. They're certainly unique individuals, but so are all PCs.

Without editorial, there are rules in the Ultimate Campaign book that restrict you to NPC classes only. They also discuss alterations to stats and when/how you transition to full class / adulthood.

As DominusMegadeus suggested speak with your GM, and see if there is an opportunity to make a house rule, the UC stuff is probably fair, but it is limited, it works best for a vignette introducing the characters in the beginning of a campaign, than for ongoing play.
