Stacks are Splittable!

You can also switch things up and add or subtract single items from the stack to get different numbers. So after the count is 4, you could add just 1 to make it 5, then drag and drop to double it to 10, 20, 40, 80, whatever you need.

You can also just drop everything into your trash from a stack, move everything else into the trade window/bank, and hit your trash to put it back in you inventory.

It's appeared as if my trash empties immediately upon moving. There's also a clock, even if I'm standing still?

Oh yea, you can't be moving or doing anything but trading/banking, and yes it ticks down just standing there.

One trick that would work for trading is conduct the trade near the AH with the items in inventory.

Offer the part of the stack you are NOT trading for sale and then immediately cancel the sale.

The items put on the AH will drop back to vault and you should be left with the correct number to trade in your inventory.
