Necklace of Adaptation and equipment

Rules Questions

So I have a rather odd question. I recently bought this item assuming the "Shell" was more like a bubble so I assumed it'd prevent water from touching my firearm as a gunslinger, but when I was talking to this with some friends they said it could just be a thin layer coating my body and not touch my firearm at all. So my question is if this is a large enough bubble to affect firearms and shield them from water while in my grasp.

I would figure it was a thin layer coating your body that also covered your gear.

I can't seem to find the quotable rule but I am pretty sure magical effects that protect a person also protect their gear. Acid-proof armor, after all, doesn't fail to protect your 10 HP, 5 hardness longspear, does it?

But then water-fouled guns and acid-blasted spears are very different things, I suppose.

It does what it specifically says it does. It lets you breathe anywhere and keeps you safe from harmful vapors and gases. Protecting firearms from water is air bubble, a separate spell.

Thanks everyone. We decided it still got the musket wet.
