Throwing together a Halfling Warpriest

Advice

Hello friends, hopefully you guys can help me out. Got into a new group and decided to fill the roll of a Warpriest, someone who can tank the hits and be in the fray, or have the ability to throw out the emergency heal. And is not a Paladin.

Anyway, I'm not sure how to go about throwing one together, everything I've read is people making them two handed fighters, or using weapons with range, but I'm trying to put one together that's using a shield, and I have no idea where to start with feats.

Also being small means I'll hit like a wet noodle, but whatever.

Anyone able to help?

Halfling actually make very good warpriests, but not if you're wanting to do physical damage. The small size and strength penalty are enough to throw that option out the window. But everything else they get is amazing for a "Bad Touch" warpriest.

Pump up your wisdom, dex, and charima (in that order) and focus on hitting with spells and special abilities (this build actually works better with a cleric, but it's fine with warpriest too). You should be able to hit touch ACs really easily, and you need a high wisdom to make your saves difficult. Instead of being a "Melee guy who also can heal", be a melee guy who causes people to explode when he touches them.

All credit for this idea goes to Tark's Guide

Just go dex based. The warpriest gets bonus combat feats to make that style work. Grabbing shield master is a real possibility.
