Single quick Brawler question

Advice

Is it legal for Snakebite Striker and Wild Child archetype to be used together. Herolabs has no errors but GM is saying they are a no go. Clarification would be great. Just seems to me that maneuver training is completely wiped out. Thanks

They do not stack RAW because they both alter maneuver training.

OK QUESTION #2

I've been told that I can't stack Snakebite Striker and Strangler because they Alter Class skills. I'll quote the person suggesting this:

JR wrote:
Sadly, Snakebite Striker and Strangler don't stack. They both alter the brawler's class skills, and archetypes that modify the same class feature don't stack. It isn't enough that they don't replace the same class feature; to quote the APG (page 72):
APG wrote:

"A character can take more than one archetype and garner additional alternate class features, but none of

the alternate class features can replace or alter the same class feature from the core class as another alternate class feature."
Both archetypes alter the Brawler's class skills, and, as such, they are incompatible.

But I read this:

PDR wrote:

Class Skills: A strangler gains Stealth as a class skill.

Class Skills: The snakebite striker gains Bluff and Stealth as class skills, but does not gain Intimidate as a class skill.

Nothing is replaced or altered from the same class feature. They would gain stealth and bluff and lose intimidate. Am I correct about this?

Scarab Sages

By strict raw, they do not atack. If this is for pfs you're out of luck. If it's for a home game ask your GM, most would be okay with it.

Do you mind explaining exactly why? Can you show me the exact conflict because I'm just not seeing it. Thanks

As silly as it is... they both alter the Class Skills of the Brawler, which by PFS rules means you cannot use both archetypes. If it's a home game, then talk with your GM. I would imagine they would be fine with those together.

Even though nothing is being replaced, the Class Skills are being altered by both archetypes. Therefore, they are not "legal" by PFS standards.

The exact conflict is that the class skills are altered.

A strangler does not have Bluff as a class skill; a snakebite striker does. A strangler has Intimidate, a snakebite striker doesn't.

The fact that the modifications to the base brawler for the strangler are included in the modifications to the striker doesn't make the modifications the same. Since the modifications are different, the archetypes are incompatible.

And, in fact, by RAW, even if the modifications were identical, the mere fact that both archetypes modified the same class feature would make them incompatible.

Technically, class skills are not class features. Class features are anything listed under the "Class Feature" heading of your class description. Class skills have their own heading, and therefore not considered class features. This is why the paladin description says an ex-paladin keeps their proficiencies but doesn't say anything about keeping his saves and class skills. The text doesn't need to because those are not considered class features.

The rules for archetypes specifically say "class features" and not "class abilities." Thus, the archetypes should combine RAW because they both alter class skills, which are not class features.

This is probably why HeroLabs allows this.
