I'm Hiding In Your Closet

I've just upgraded my computer to Windows 7, and thus have to put all my old games back. I've successfully reinstalled Neverwinter Nights 2 and the two expansions, and am now trying to reinstall Kaedrin's PrC Pack - but I'm having trouble. I've tried downloading it from the Neverwinter Nexus, and installed it as instructed, but all I got was what looked like a comparatively small document that doesn't change the game in any way. Can anyone help?
It's possible that it has something to do with the fact that I wasn't able to fully update it for some reason, possibly because wherever the built-in updater was supposed to go is no longer there. What can I do about this?

That would be the 1.42.1 version of Kaedryn's PrC hakpak. The final version iirc. I was hoping I could find you an older version to try (or that I still had one of the older ones), but I don't and everywhere seems to have the same version (the final one) mostly linking to the same site you downloaded from. You may have gotten a corrupted file, I'd try downloading it again or checking to see if your NWN 2 is the latest version. I don't have NWN 2 on my new PC (although I'm thinking I should install it now...). If I find a different version out there I'll post here or PM you. Good luck.
I had trouble with the site today as well btw...

It looks like according to the bottom post on this:
http://nwn2customcontent.wikidot.com/
He may have taken down functional public downloads of his content because a Persistent World server was stealing his material, in spite of clearly posted permissions requirements on the Nexus.
The same link has a contact button where you can find his email address, perhaps if you contact him he might send you a functional version (if of course the information is still valid and he is willing).

I'm aware of that issue. From what I can tell, what ticked him off was their specifically stealing his original stuff, and not his adaptations of pen-and-paper material. Given that that latter was what appealed to me, I don't understand why he doesn't just restrict his publications to pen-and-paper adaptations, since he does a good job with those, rather than closing the chocolate factory entirely, so to speak.

Ok, I downloaded the final version from here, but what I got was a "7z" file, and I'm not sure what to do with it, since it's not a .zip file like the older version was. How do I use a "7z" file in Windows 7? Is that even the proper question to ask?

You will need a program called 7-zip to unzip it. It's a free download.
