Buying more pleyer companions: what to get?

Pathfinder Player Companion

I'm planning to buy some more player companions but I'm having a bit of trouble narrowing down my options. I already have faith and philosophies, the alchemy handbook and the Harrow handbook. Our group will be starting a new campaign in the new year at that's as much as is set in stone thus I might be player or gm so I'm open to all ideas.

Have you and your group discussed any of the themes that might appear in the next campaign?

Not yet. It's quite possible that the purchases I make could influence the themes.

I'd suggest the Pathfinder Society Primer, Dungeoneers Handbook and any of the slayer/hunter books that seem applicable: Undead, Demon, Dragon or Giant.

If you own the Advanced Class Guide Advanced Class Origins could be a good buy, if you want to play an evil campaign Champions and Faiths of Corruption could be good.

Shadow Lodge

Both Champions and Faiths of Purity are must haves. Balance and Corruption possibly.

In my opinion, many of the Slayer's Guides are kind of meh. Its just not enough and they tend to make very poor choices, again in my opinion, on what classes they pick to focus on in them, while tending to be very useless to many others who should be appropriate.

Undead was fairly good of that lot. The various Pathfinder Society books tend to offer both good generic advice and plenty of options easily divorced from the in setting organization.

Dark Archive

The Faiths books should have low priority, considering much of their content got reprinted in Inner Sea Gods.
I really liked Animal Archive.

Shadow Lodge

Animal Archive is simultaneously great and terrible. It has a lot of good options, but it also introduced specific slots for animals, which needs to be errata'd out of existence. It also introduced new Skill Tricks that essentially only limit what you could have done before. In both cases, it introduced rules that take away options for everyone else who did not use them before it existed, instead of adding new things that hadn't been allowed before.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. I should be meeting up with my group tomorrow and with any luck I'll be able to get a better sense of the direction in which things are headed.
