Shadow Lodge 5/5

In the world of video games, there are those really great games with solid story and plot that when you have finished it, you feel... satisfied.

Then you have the other kind of video games, you know, the kind where you have total freedom to do nearly whatever you want, to interact with the game in ways other games seem not to have been programed for. The kind of video game that doesn't tell a story, but makes you live one instead.

As a GM, Alex McGuire is that second kind of video game. I could not be prouder of someone else's star achievement, and consider myself and our region truly blessed to have him in our lodge.

If you enjoy an interactive game where your decisions actually matter (and get noted on chronicle sheets for history's sake), then the next time you are in Michigan, look up Alex and join a table.

Congrats Alex! You've really earned it. Your ability to really run with the players and improvise is inspiring.

As much as I have looked forward to playing at all of your tables, I am especially looking forward to being at your 150th table.

Thanks for everything.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Thanks folks! I'm really glad to game in such an awesome area! I couldn't do it without amazing venture officers like Bill, Doug, Jeff and Zak. And the amazing player base at Mainstreet Billiards in Rochester has been fantastic. Here's to another 150!

Congratulations on the 5th Star and welcome to The Island! Alex is one of those GMs who is so smooth when he improvises he fools the players into believing it's all part of the author's script. Only when you read the scenario afterward do you realize that side track your party went on was never covered, but Alex was able to get you back on the tracks without anyone being the wiser. He truly belongs in the ranks of the 5-Stars.

Alex is also a great organizer, managing one of our showcase PFS locations for over 30 months now. Twice this year he has organized the multi-table Specials on a Wednesday night no less. In 2014 he has organized exactly 150 tables at Mainstreet Billiards (they average 3 tables a week) and he's GMed 41 out of 50 weeks (the last two Wednesdays of the year were waived due to the holidays). That's the amount of dedication he has as a GM and as an organizer. What a guy!

Nothing beats a Zarta adventure, except a Zarta adventure where you make the DM crack up.
