This is my poison character. He has a pretty extensive bent towards poisons.
1. How often do you use it?
All the time.
2. What class and feats did you go with to aid poison use?
Alchemist 7
Class Features: Discoveries (Concentrate Poison, Sticky Poison)
Feats: Poison Focus, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Elven Curve Blade)
Trait: Venom-Drenched (Count Ambras’s Punishment) - You are immune to one specific nonmagical poison. If you ingest a dose of that poison (even if it is a contact, inhaled, or injury poison), it remains in your system for 24 hours; any creature that bites you during that time is subject to the poison’s effects.
3. Was there a point/level in the build when it became viable?
Getting Sticky Poison made the poison game so much easier. Concentrate Poison upped DCs by 2 which is helpful. Celestial Poisons will help counter evil outsiders and undead.
4. How much do you spend on poison per scenario, on average? 150-200 GP, if I go full poison. If I don't use my poisons for reasons, then 0 GP. Bombs provide a good alternative to poison. Once, I get a Serpent's Belt (iffy due to poor wording) and a Calistrian Kiss, then I will move to concentrating Black Adder poison and using that on my weapons. 1d2 Con damage at DC 18 is pretty awesome.
Tips: Non-ability damage poisons are extremely useful. Confabulation Powder can be a DC 21 thrown weapon that covers a 10'x10' area (Concentrated and with Poison Focus) that staggers the target on a failed save for one minute.
Once I get to level 11, I will have both Toxicological Timing and Improved TT. My poison of choice will be Count Ambras' Punishment. The DC on my Calistrian Kiss will be 23 (if concentrated) and 27 (if I spend a round to make it Malignant). This will deal 1 Dex Drain on the first round and 1d2 Dex Drain on subsequent rounds. The kicker is that it nauseates as the primary effect for a whole minute, so even if they save after the first round, they would still be nauseated for the rest of the fight.

Oh, and ingested poisons are still effective. You just need a poison belcher.
If you weren't aware, the Alchemy Manual is a treasure trove of a companion for poisoners.
I have the AM and did not see this. Wicked. This will really help.
I really wish Investigators could take Sticky Poison. That is a tremendous feat for poisoning. I'm not seeing Poison Focus...what book is it in.
