The Kingdom of Talinguarde has never been a more peaceful and prosperous place. For those that bow to the Righteous Mitra that is. Those that don't face persecution and sometimes death. Most especially those followers of Asmodeus have bore the brunt of it and have almost been exterminated.
You are among those few, fellow worshipers of Asmodeus or not, your less than lawful actions have found the attention of Mitra's Law Keepers and your evil doings are at an end. You have been sentenced. Judged without trial. To death, in various creative ways as befits the law. You have three days remaining in which to think about the things you have done in your like. Perhaps if you repent then Mitra will be merciful to you in the next life.
Three days and barely a friend left in the world. Any last words? This is your end... or is it?
Hi everyone. The Way of the Wicked AP captured my attention ever since I heard of it and so I have therefore decided to run it for you. I hope to find several others as keen to experience this AP as I am to play with. I will possibly start out with up to 8 PC's as I know that, despite best intentions there are some that do not follow through for whichever reason.
Now a bit about me.
I am familiar with all the standard and core pathfinder paizo stuff and the D20 website. I think anything on there is fair game (though 3rd party stuff I am not so familiar with so check that with me first). I have 'pathfindered' for about 5 years or so and GM'd for less than a year. I love both roleplaying and big numbers and see no reason why the two cannot play nicely together and everyone have their fun. If you feel the same and want to create a grand story to be told for generations to come then by all means apply here.
2 or 3 spots are already reserved but don't feel like those characters 'roles' are taken. There will likely be multiples of some types and besides I don't like saying that there has to be certain roles to make up a party anyway. I will do my best to make the challenges suitable to the group. So capture me with your backstory and you are 95% of the way there. Also please don't apply if you are already in a WotW game.
Now I will post updates at least once per day and would expect the same back. Will make selection early January and start after xmas and new years craziness is over.
Stats choose Focus(18) and Foible(8). Then 15pt buy for the other 4 stats.
All the common races are well represented in Talinguarde, uncommon ones are definitely around somewhere in lesser number.
Guns are rare and not manufactured in Talinguarde but they are still around.
One of your 2 traits will be your Crime Trait.
I am considering other option including gestalt or mythic or even becoming more powerful through templates but I'm not decided yet.

I'd like to play gestalt
I have an oracle necromancer already mostly built as I have tried to get in to this game about a dozen times
The other class would be either antipaladin (lord of darkness) or warlock (note, third party)
Stats would be (after racial adjustments)
If antipaladin
17
13
10
14
8
20
If warlock, swap str and dex, either way take vampire feats as soon as possible.

though 3rd party stuff I am not so familiar with so check that with me first
Psionics (psionics), path of war (tome of battle), pact magic unbound (binder)?
8 PC's
I am considering other option including gestalt or mythic or even becoming more powerful through templates but I'm not decided yet.
There is quick and dirty way to do that I'm considering running, though not before PoW2 and Akashic Mysteries release. With 8 PCs and gestalt it would be 4 tables, two PCs each, levels 3-22 as per XP and CR table (probably 20/mythic2, if any table survives that long), or two 4-player tables with regular levels, but without gestalt. When a player flakes, the table is either put on hold until another flake, or additional player recruited, or the table is merged with another table by a combination of DM fiat, swamp gas, weather balloon etc. That way, even if only two players are left, AP can be played to the end.

Hrmmm... will need a bit to percolate the back story but I have a concept in mind that rocks the vivisectionist flair. Thinking a Lawful evil Kuthite interested in discovering new and intriguing ways to cause hideous pain to his test subjects.
Not sure on the archetype itself though.
(obviously leaving the specifics to the imagination of the readers and just giving reference to the fact that it is happening to avoid issues with the Forum guidelines.)
He'd mostly be paying lip service to the midnight lord, following the god due to his preferences meshing with big ZK's followers. So he'd have no issue working with followers of other gods or various forms of horrible persons.
Well that or an oracle of the outer gods could be very fun.
Anyway, Dot.
Avoron
I'm very interested in this. Thinking of an extremely devoted and extremely unsociable Duergar Zen Archer.
Stats would be something like this:
Str: 14
Dex: 14
Con: 18 (16+2)
Int: 8 (foible)
Wis: 20 (focus+2)
Cha: 3 (7-4)
That charisma. Looking forward to role-playing the personality if I get in. I'll post the stats and backstory as soon as possible.

Interested. Havnt played this campaign before. +1 vote for gestalt.
I am thinking of playing a demolitions man, an alchemist with a focus on bombs. Would you allow a human Alchemical Trapper?

@Nyaa. Those are all ok. The one that you choose I will study up on a bit more if you get in.
@Avoron. Pt. buy on your stats there is 1 too many. Also how does he be a team player with only 3 charisma?
@Carnadine. Interesting. What role you you see his supposed father being, if any?
@Cam. I think the trapper is fine if he has a story reason to learn to set traps instead of other discoveries.
@Everyone. We will be starting with gestalt, possibly being able to get a template/mythic tier or something similar later on.
Avoron
Yeah, realized point buy error but was too late to edit. Sorry about that. I'll fix it when I post the rest of the character information.
Part of my concept for the character is that his primary motivation is utter loyalty to and faith in Asmodeus, so his goals would hopefully align with that of the party, for the most part. He understands that compromise is sometimes necessary, he's just very reluctant to do so, and will usually not be nice about it.
If you think that would be an issue, I could switch to ordinary dwarf and change the abilities some more to end up with a charisma of around 6-8.
Or I could just scrap the character idea. I'm not that attached to it, and I don't want to interfere with the smooth running of the group if I get in.

@Nyaa. Those are all ok. The one that you choose I will study up on a bit more if you get in.
It looks like we are a bit heavy on caster and ranged side now, and there's a martial concept I've been wanting to play.
Martial side is Warder (Sworn Protector, Zweihander Sentinel). With reach weapon, class and archetype feature and Bodyguard feat, he is focused on protecting his allies from harm, mostly from physical damage. It works equally well without gestalt.
Caster side (Psion with Psychometabolism discipline and Transmogrifist subdiscipline) allows him to be mostly self-sufficient and not rely on presence of traditional buffers and healers, though it's nice to have them.
Because of the nature of this character, I'd like to ask if any not so martially inclined character would like to have personal bodyguard or partner in crime, as it will make writing backstories a bit easier, and will give at least two evil characters a reason to work together.
Backup concept is Vitalist, the only combat healer class in PF, the only evil healer class in PF. Martial side is probably Psychic Warrior.
Also how does he be a team player with only 3 charisma?
Well, he doesn't have to be one in the beginning, it can be great roleplaying opportunity. And IIRC there's a small duergar settlement in Talingarde.

New idea :) a goblin with a scythe. He is The Mini Reaper >:)
Now how best to go about building him. Hmmm.
He would be decidedly lawful evil for sure.
As for class, i am thinking rogue then some sort of combat class, and admitedadly the aegis or mind blade from psionics unleashed looks very appealing :)
If not, a ranger with humans as a favoured enemy?
Would you be against a goblin? And if not would you be against a psionic character?
I am really liking the mindblade vibe. A black hooded figure who stretches out his hand, a ghostly blade materalizing in his grasp. A shimmering ghost scythe, radiating a black-purple aura of evil, ready to devour. Then the hooded creature laughs, a hideous goblin laugh.... The Mini Reaper has come for you...

I do love vitalist, I love it's position as a a potentially evil healer that doesn't use negative energy, though as for "combat healer" there are loads of ways to build an oracle for that, and a couple bard builds I've played before.
That said I suggest the warder, and for three reasons
One. I've been wanted to see those classes in action, but haven't had the chance to yet.
Two. I'm plan in in taking the healing role covered with my bones oracle.
Three playing two psionic classes at once would mean you would have an over abundance of power points per day, you could augment every power you manifested and not have to worry overly much.
I like gestalt because of the versatility it lets you have, it lets you play things that would be all kinds of puny in regular play and still have fun
For example, I once had a bard/gunslinger that was unbelievably fun, and I got to try my hand at broken (mentally not munchkin-y) when I had a spark (3rd party mad scientist class)/martial artist monk that had flavors of river tam in the backstory
Right now I'm going for warlock/oracle oracle gets me spell casting and healing and necromantic goodies, warlock lets me have some ranged damage and debuffs, I don't normally

GM Pandorica
Me in no what to make LF2 lets play brothers, me and you could kill any xmass
Only joking
I have a really off the wall idea for a PC,
He's a evil prestodragon
His MIO is he pretends to become a pet or familiar to get in with his target and then later kill them, some times to rob them some times because they did some thing he did not like. Like not taking him seriously as a true dragon. You see he is full of hate, he was born in the body of a toy dragon, a freakish joke of a dragons body, a jest by the gods, but he knows he should be much more, he should have been a true dragon, feared and respected by all. Every time some fool jokes how cute he is, how funny he looks, what a small a weak thing he's is, that fool is going to pay!. The world just dos not see him for what he truly is, some thing terrifying they should fear, they should respect. Well if they don't then he will make them, His hate burns deep, burns strong, they WILL fear him. just as they fear true dragons.
He has power, by shear will and force of mind he has made himself powerful. He can recap art the minds of others, crack them open, make them scream. Make them trust him, like him, then open themselves up so he can crush them. He may be small weak but his a power, psionic powers of the nomad and kinetic powers that cut, mind powers of the telepath. His will alone makes him as powerful as any true dragon.,
He killed his last disrespectful owner in a most grizzly fashion, coursing his guts to be ripped open in front of every one at a wedding, and pinning the blame of it on some poor sap bard.
I like gestalt and think it will work well for this but ok if not, the one CR hit is fine, I could even make him in race builder if you like say 13 points so he has full levels and is even weaker than most prestodragons. I would like another player in the game to have him as there fake familiar, that player would of course back up his feelings of superiority and treat him as the fearful true dragon he is, in that way having a companion, and working others not to call him pet, toy or act with disrespect. If that player is in for a crime them Zim is in with hi. For aiding and abetting if not joining in for the hell of it.
Carnadine
@GM. His natural father was left as a plot hook for the GM. I think this campaign has vampire feats to show progression. I'm not familiar with the campaign enough to know what vampires serve big A.
I wrote the background to provide a “I'm your father" moment with a big vampire. But I'm open to however you want to write it.
Cheers

@Prismatic Monk. I will have more thoughts when people start submitting back stories. Your stat block seems ok. Remember it will be gestalt though. ;)
@Pandorica. Sounds pretty interesting. So you are wanting to be a Pseudodragon? I'm not sure what a Prestodragon is.

Pseudodragons are tiny cousins of true dragons, and are playful but shy. They often only vocalize in chirps, hisses, growls, and purrs, but can communicate telepathically with any intelligent creature. If approached peacefully and offered food, they are usually willing to share information about what they've seen in their territory, but threats or violence make them flee.
Pseudodragons are carnivores, devouring insects, rodents, small birds, and snakes, though they sometimes eat eggs, and most also enjoy butter, cheese, and fish. They either hunt on the ground like lizards or look for prey on the wing like a raptor. As smart as a typical humanoid, they do not enjoy being treated as pets and prefer being treated as friends. They are wary of evil folk but can bond with sorcerers and wizards as familiars, and some have befriended druids and rangers or partnered with good dragons as scouts. Pseudodragons will serve as familiars if they approve of a spellcaster's personality (and if the spellcaster takes the Improved Familiar feat), but often also bond with those whose company they enjoy or who have proven themselves true friends. A pseudodragon might follow another character in this manner for days, weeks, years, or even a lifetime if the creature is treated well, provided with food, and generally well-loved.
Upon reaching adulthood, a pseudodragon's body is about 1 foot long with a 2-foot tail, and weighs about 7 pounds. A pseudodragon egg is the size of a chicken egg, but leathery and spotted brown, and a mating female lays 2–5 eggs every spring. A clutch of pseudodragons (the collective noun—not to be confused with pseudodragons from the same brood of eggs) usually consists of a mated pair and several near-adult offspring.

It's probably worth noting in campaign info or somewhere that PCs are wanted criminals and will stay wanted criminals for the major chunk of the AP.
CR1 blindsense 60ft, telepathy 60ft, fly 60ft
Totally balanced as a player race. BTW, where's "Pseudodragon characters" entry like drow one?
DM HolyWater
@Pandorica. Yep I understand now. At the start a Pseudodragon would have to be without class levels but would catch up to everyone else in class levels at 3rd level. I'm just wondering why they would imprison a tiny dragon in the first place instead of just killing it as if it were a monster. I have this image of it fit with an iron collar, waiting to be given to the dogs for sport or something.
@Nyaa. Drow are definitely a playable race, even nobles(though at a 1 level disadvantage for a time like the pseudodragon).
@Seth. Looks fine, any mistakes I am not worried about at this point. It's the back stories that I want to read and get ideas from.
@Avoron. Duegar character is fine even with low cha as long as he has an in character reason to go along and work with the group. Being devoted to Asmodeus will obviously work so if you want to play that Duegar then go for it and give me a good backstory to pick.

That is an amusing image.
@pandoricia: I wouldn't mind having a familiar in the slightest.
@nyaa: the module includes feats giving the option to become either a vampire or a litch, my character is goings To take the vampire ones as soon as possible because my character is very much afraid of what awaits him in the hereafter.
Wade Wilhelm is a 6ft 2 gold eyed, white haired aasimar with somewhat pale skin he has rippling muscles and well groomed facial hair that rings around his mouth
Wade Wilhelm was an upper middle class aasimar blacksmith and a well known one at that in some circles, he even made weapons for minor nobility and was beginning to branch our into special materials
all in all many would have been comfortable with his life
but Wade Willhelm has never been a person who could stand to be content, always he was looking to improve himself and his work, one day he found an old book detailing ways to use dark rituals to gain unspeakable power he preformed a few of the preliminary rituals inevitably however the pale road lead him into troubles with the authorities as they caught him in the act, having just killed a priest and a young virginal acolyte and so here he is awaiting.. his death
no... this shall not be his fate... not when he had come so close to true power.... and just after he saw what his eternal fate would be after death
he shall he escape and make them rue the day they sought to punish Wade Willhelm!
DM HolyWater
@Nyaa. I will consider things that are CR1 or less(and medium at the largest) and deal with it on a case by case basis. If you have an idea of something fun that you would want to play then put it forward. Heck maybe even CR2 but made less powerful at level one(what I would do if someone wanted to be a drow noble as an example).
Nyaa
I'm actually interested in how would a theoretical pseudodragon "catch up" in levels with other characters, and more importantly if you as DM think that extra two dragon hit dice, SR, DV, LLV, telepathy, blindsense and immunity to paralysis is balanced against more traditional races. And how stat adjustments of "Str -4, Dex +4, Con -2, Int +2, Cha +2" were calculated from bestiary entry. And how normally NG creature turned to evil.
I would also like to hear other players' thought on these matters
Wade Willhelm

Sorry I wasn't clear,
I hadn't actually put any thought into where the book came from till now, how about he found the book in a restricted area of the city's Mage guild's library, ooh, or maybe the book found him...
He sacrificed the priest and the virgin as an offering to Greater Power (I'm thinking either Charon or one of the chthulu type beings) in order to grant him a small piece of their power
Unfortunately the price of the power also included being that being's personal playtoy/servant/harald after death, and he was able to briefly glimpse the horror of his soon to be etearnal home
He seeks immortality because, firstly time spent here is time spent not there.
Secondly if he can be immortal long enough, he might be able to swing for godhood and get out of the agreement on a technicality.

I was thinking more an isolation cage, as the last two guards that did come to kill it, had there brains melted. How its in a collier waiting for a public form of execution for its crimes.
Why not just kill it? look up the 'Animal trails' of the medieval age, if your in a lawful world the law hast-to be followed, even if its for a Pig accused of crimes with the Devil. In one famous German case, a pig was put to Torture and a confession was gotten and presented at court, a documented with hits hoof print on it saying it had been working for the devil, it was brunt at the stake, I kid you not.
Im not being funny, Nyaa but if your calling me out on this, please just do so, I am an big lad and can take it, really :) I will not be mad at you are go all defending my wants. All think I want as even power level game just as everyone dos. I just thought it would be a cool idea for a PC. If you think a PC like that may brake it, Happy to work with GM to bring it to a level that's fits. :) see below.
There are some points that need to be taken into account with my idea for a PC that's a tiny Dragon. Yes I agree it gets a load of stuff, 'BUT' it also 'LOSES' a load of stuff, it can't used weapons, shields at all, and as for any Armour its 2x cost, has to be made to fit an tiny dragon and then its flight suffers if it uses it.
Also he has No hand slots, head slots, Body slots, boot slots, where as other races do, that is a bit old hit. All his magic items have to be tiny, in fact ALL his items have to be tiny. 1lb headband, arr see my point.
Then it STR will be once I spend 2points of my 15 -1, so can carry just about nothing and its natural attacks for 1d3-1 and 1d2-1.
I agree about SR, that should go, its a pain in the butt anyway, if we are playing Transparency rules for Magic and Psionics, it just gets in the way more then being of use.
I had the build at 1 HD not 2 as a player race, open up the spoiler, for a PC its CR1, so cut down to make it a 1 level with less stuff.
I would use this build per 1st HD GM

@Wade. Cool, thats the sort of stuff that makes a backstory interesting. If you expand your backstory with that stuff it will look better.
@Nyaa. It's in the 'monsters as PC's' section. Let me see if I can find it Here is is. So half way to level 4 it gets level 3 then level 4 with everyone else. And in a game that is already gestalt, I'm not sure that the other things you are worried about are as huge as you think. Plus i will work things out with the individual characters that get picked to make sure nothing is too crazy. The only thing i really care about right now is how a little dragon came to be the way he is, that story will be a good one i hope.

@Wade, I'm thinking him over with regards to being linked to another PC. Would need to know more about your crime etc, he would ever be holding to others. He's nut case but not MAD, his is logical, methodical and utterly driven, he wants nothing less than to become a god, or as close as he can to being one. That is the only power level he will respect for himself.
On another note.
Going from level 3 say to level 20+ in a game on here
I always love it when a GM and players talk on here about a game going from Level 1 to 5 to level 20+ come on guys who are you kidding, Right now the post rate will be high, as you want to get in the game. And the lucky few who get in will post fast for the 1st few weeks but then it will slow down to 1 post every day or so. Most cases 1 every 2 days form a player, A single fight will take 2 weeks real life if not longer. Your looking at 1 level every 3 mouths on average, so 3 to 4 years to get to level 20 and mythic. Almost never happens, [ok now and then yes, but its a blue moon] So lets talk the truth, you will make 2 possibly three levels before RL kills the game. Plan for that and if more come then great, but don't expect it to happen.

Description and Background Used to wearing robes and gowns as exotic as she is to the people of Talingarde, Aadilashka seems out of place in a dungeon. Her voice is exotic, even magically empowered, some say, and her performances in the small opera house of Goldfleet were quickly attracting attention. Some might say, the wrong type of attention.
One of the most unique things (and regretfully more noticeable) about Aadilashka's performances is that she would sometimes sing in two different voices at the same time, and strange things would happen on stage. Winds would blow things over. Sometimes props and stage elements would spontaneously shatter or catch on fire during these unusual performances. More and more people were rushing to see this strange Diva whose voice could alter reality in such unusual ways.
The witch hunter Sir Balen of Karfeld himself attended one of these performances. It could not have gone any worse for Aadilashka that day. Not only did the Aria of the Opera Veldani Terema fascinate the crowd of spectators, she performed it simultaneously with the forbidden Aria Hex Lucentis. The result of these two arias overlapping produced earshattering cacophany that filled the hall, but still fascinated the audience. For this, however, Balen had been prepared, and he quickly stuffed cotton into his ears and ordered his men to seize the witch, quickly muffling her as he pronounced judgement.
Appearance Aadilashka is a beautiful Vishkanyi with gleaming copper and gold scales across her body. Her violet and red serpentine eyes are striking, and they say that it is her forked tongue that allows her to sing in two voices at once. A lithe and beautiful form that can capture attention quite easily when it is required of her. Her eyes sometimes have a wild gleam in them that gives her brief moments of seeming insanity.
The Possession Aadilashka has secretly served Asmodeus and other Infernal Powers in exchange for her great gifts of vocality. She gave her body up willingly to be possessed by an infernal force. This force is as interested in using her vocal abilities as she is.
