Oracle Archetype stacking question.

Rules Questions

Hi all thanks for taking the time to look at this.

I'm looking to stack the purifier archetype with the spirit guide, is this possible I'm unsure as to if you can replace feature, I.e. Bonus spells with new bonus spells, etc.

Also would it be possible to combine with dual cursed too. In case you were wondering I'm using for a holy vindicator build with multiple channeling options.

Thanks again :-)

It almost certainly would never be accepted in PFS, but this is what you should be looking at. Archetype Design is roughly 4/5 of the way down the page. Which aspects of the 3 archetypes are you thinking of keeping? Is it for flavor, or is it for power?

Well the purifier gets 1+char alignment channel
The Life oracle gets 1+char standard channel
And if you take the life spirit through the spirit guide option you get 1+ char standard channel also.

At 10th level it would look like
5d6 channel x2 1+CHA times per day
5d6 channel alignment 1+CHA times per day.

I just thought it would be awesome added into a vindicator build.

Thanks for your response Cuuniyevo

Those archetypes do not stack because they modify the same revelations.

As written, there's no problem with having either the Purifier archetype or the Spirit Guide archetype applied to an Oracle of Life, but combining the archetypes into one becomes problematic.

The Spirit Guide says it replaces the Revelations gained at levels 3, 7 and 15, while the Purifier says you MUST take the specified Revelations at levels 3, 7 and 11. Furthermore, the Spirit Guide (Life) says you add 9 specific spells to your spirit that you may cast once you gain the appropriate spell slots, but Purifier has 9 different spells that are granted 1 at a time by level. Dual-Cursed adds revelations at levels 5 and 13, but Purifier also adds special abilities at the same levels.

Having 2 sources of Channel Energy is fine, but to get the third that is also at full power could lead to some big problems down the road.

If I were house-ruling this character together, I'd say: You must choose 2 Curses, as Dual-Cursed, but never benefit from any of their upgraded versions (meaning both would be held at their default, instead of just 1 of them being held back); You'd no longer receive Revelations at 3, 7, 15; At levels 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, you'd have to pick EITHER the spell from the Spirit Animal OR the spell from Purifier, but not both; You would have Diminished Spellcasting from Purifier, and receive the benefits of Sacred Scourge, Holy Terror and Celestial Master at the appropriate levels, unless you wished to swap out Sacred Scourge or Celestial Master for a bonus Revelation, as from Dual-Cursed, at level 5 or 13; You must pick the required Revelations from Purifier (this would be at the earliest convenience), afterwards being allowed to choose Revelations from the Life Mystery as normal.

Excellent cheers for your input Cuuniyevo it seems quite balanced. I didn't realise the spells were replaced and thought I could fix the revelations issues with "extra revelation feat". Thanks too Zahir.
