I'm just wondering how you'd classify a skilled trade e.g. lawyer, doctor, scribe? The options I can see don't really fit . . .

1) Slaves: Definately Not
2) Serf's/Peasants: Again no its more base labour here.
3) Entertainers: No they don't entertain (usually).
4) Soldiers: Not unless they're a miltary X.
5) Sailors: Again no not unless they X e.g ship's doctor.
6) Thieves: No.
7) Yeomen: ? not really skilled more independant landowner from my understanding.
8) Tradespeople: Maybe but it gives you life of toil which is not really associated with these professinos.
9) Artisans: No.
10) Merchants: Maybe but again doesn't really fit.
11) Clergy or Cultists: Again not unless they're a priest first.

Where would you put the skilled workers like a lawyer? Or for that matter a noble?

Lawyer is a profession that didnt exist in medieval times, you had something similar (the attorney i believe), but not exactly the same.

Other than that, i see doctors and scribes/scholars as valid professons, the list in UC are simply examples.

A doctor presuming a non-divine caster would simply have ranks in heal and perhaps
profession herbalism.

What do you mean by a skilled trade? I don't think I quite understand the question.

Sailor is a skilled trade, Profession(sailor) allows you to steer the ship, adjust the sails etc etc. Except for the ship's cook ev

A Doctor would simply have ranks in heal and profession herbalism.
