elven arcana says that an elf oracle "selects one spell from the sorcerer/wizard spell list that is at least one level lower than the highest-level oracle spell she can cast. The ancient lorekeeper gains this as a bonus spell known. The spell is treated as one level higher than its true level for all purposes."

so if i'm understanding correctly, when an ancient lorekeeper reaches level 4 he gains the ability to cast one wizard spell. since he can cast 2nd level spells, he can choose a 1st level wizard spell (say, mage armor), and then adds mage armor to his list of 2nd level oracle spells.

is that correct?

yes

Would this or other bonus spells from a curse allow an oracle to use magic devices of the sorcerer/ wizard spell list?

I know...it seems like a stretch to me too... or are these spells considered to be part of the oracle/ cleric list for this character?

The ability does not make the sorcerer/wizard list... the oracle class list. It simply allows the player to choose a FEW sorcerer/wizard spells and add THOSE SPELLS ONLY to his personal spell list, where they become divine spells for this purpose.

So yes, he would be able to use wands OF THOSE SPECIFIC SPELLS without UMD.

Scarab Sages

The ancient lorekeeper also adds a level 0 wizard/sorcerer spell as a level 1 oracle spell when he reaches oracle level 2.

These wizard/sorcerer spells replace your bonus spells from your mystery.
