So one of my fellow players in a Saturday one shot made a character with hero lab, he said the the stated effect always happens and that that is was a normal ruling everyone knew about. I consulted my DM and he agreed.(However W_E_Ray Is notoriously bad and apathetic to RAW sot that didn't mean much to me.)

No it does not. It's jus a skill point to spend.

Do you mean, if you select the "+1 skill point" option when you take a level in your favored class, does the skill you put that point into become a class skill (if it wasn't already)?

No. You get an extra skill point. That skill point doesn't turn a skill into a class skill.

Are you sure he wasn't using a trait that gives you a +1 bonus to a skill and makes the skill a class skill? There are lot of those.

Sczarni

It's just one extra Skill Point.

Add it to your others, and spend them as you wish.

You do however get the 3 points if you put it in a skill that is already a class skill, if that's what you meant.

no, but that is a fantastic houserule that I shall now consider.

That's standard rules. Mind you what he was saying, is that the skill in question had to be a class skill BEFORE you put a point into it.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think BigDTBone was referring to meeko's question, not thejeff's post.
